Today, cities are in constant transformation and are developing at a faster pace than ever before. Yet, these evolutions never happen randomly.

Historical, political, economic and social factors influence the built environment and our societies and, consequently, our actual experience of everyday life.

This process can evolve over years and centuries, or seemingly, it can occur in an instant.

Started by photographer Laurian Ghinițoiu and architect Dorin Ștefan Adam as an ongoing investigation project, “Cities that transform” portrays, on the one hand, the consequences that ongoing (trans)formations have on the built environment and, on the other hand, it brings empathy on how people respond to these changes.
